Literally started reading this last week. The title catched my nerdy eye. Quite fun

The dashboard now also includes a climate-inspired model using the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways developed by the IPCC. This allows us to assess the probability of breaching 1.5°C not just from the observational record, but also under different long-term socioeconomic and emissions scenarios.

The notebook is designed to simplify reproducible research and comparison across sources, especially relevant for studying events like #ElNiño or evaluating #ParisAgreement targets.

Global Temperature Anomalies

I’ve created a Quarto notebook in Julia that:
– Downloads temperature anomaly datasets from the most used sources (HadCRUT, GISTEMP, NOAAGlobalTemp and Berkeley Earth)
– Adjusts them to a preindustrial baseline (1850–1900) as suggested by the Paris Agreement
– Outputs harmonised CSVs and plots

The dashboard provides a transparent and regularly updated view of where we stand relative to global climate targets, using publicly available data and a fully reproducible methodology.
