No way he could survive a Chicago winter.

Spanberger is even more of a “centrist” than Kaine. The VA legislatures will have to do some heavy lifting to get her to go along with any remotely progressive idea. Unfortunately she would not replace Kaine with anyone better — and I agree what he did was terrible. We need to keep hammering him.

Maybe focus on products and not appeasing our dictator.
November 11, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Plans no one will be able to afford. Thats the whole point of the marketplace and requiring insurance. This idiotic idea will cost even more than the recent hikes. Single payor plan would effectively deal with insurance companies

We busted our butts to get the amazing election results we got last week and they basically wiped out all that momentum and gain and then tell us move on. Maybe they should apologize and elect a new Leader ASAP and then we’ll consider doing all the hard grass roots work again.
November 11, 2025 at 1:17 AM
At this point the most impactful thing Murphy, Van Hollen and the others can do is get Schumer out of his leadership position NOW. And Durbin too. Don’t wait for the midterms. Murphy would be a great Leader. We need that NOW. Certainly before January when this happens all over.
November 11, 2025 at 12:27 AM
Yes they should be calling for Schumer to step aside NOW. NOT wait for the midterms for thst
November 11, 2025 at 12:25 AM
And who will bail us out?
November 11, 2025 at 12:13 AM
There is genuine concern the leaders do not understanding the dire situation we are in. Primaries are a legitimate way to try to change the status quo. You can fight the administration at the same time you support a primary candidate. Them stating standing up does not work is a recipe for fascism.
November 11, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Please please please!!! Now! Do not wait until the midterms.
November 10, 2025 at 11:54 PM
When I was knocking on doors for Harris I had someone tell me their biggest concern was “potholes!” I eventually got her to note something that was relevant to Harris we could talk about. It opened my eyes to how little attention people were paying to the situation we were in.
November 10, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Someone give him some talking points for gosh sakes. They can’t even capitulate well.
November 10, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Leadership did this and it makes it worse the way they tried to hide it. At least have the moral of your convictions and say what you are doing. That’s why folks are flocking to Indivisible and other groups rather than to the Democratic Party.
November 10, 2025 at 1:44 PM
If people were happy with Dem leadership they wouldn’t be flocking to Indivisible and 50501. Dems need to look around and see what their people want.
November 10, 2025 at 1:33 PM
This both sides approach you are taking is why the Democratic Party is viewed so poorly. Take a stand. Have a plan. Right now everyone needs to be laser focused on stopping the dictatorship and we clearly need new dem senate leaders to do that. The rank and file are leading, not party leadership.
November 10, 2025 at 1:31 PM
“There are pros and cons and a lot of debating the wisdom of this vote” sounds like something the NYTs would write. We need new senate leadership that can keep the caucus together to fight to restore democracy. We need a Pelosi in the senate. Schumer needs to go.
November 10, 2025 at 11:46 AM
He’s no Pelosi.
November 10, 2025 at 1:49 AM
Thank you for standing firm. This is no “deal.” This is caving.
November 10, 2025 at 1:47 AM
I am so disappointed in you. We are fighting facism. We won’t succeed with your approach. The republicans will not vote to extend the subsidies because you are giving up the only leverage you have and Johnson won’t even promise to hold that meaningless vote. We have lost all the momentum of Tues.
November 10, 2025 at 1:45 AM
And on a week we had amazing elections and Trump is loudly booed at an NFL game. This is worse than if they had never voted to shut down. What is wrong with your colleagues?!?!
November 9, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Chris Murphy should take Schumer’s place.
