This fundamentally comes down to values, but I don’t think somebody choosing to participate in a crime the reasonably creates the risk of death *is* as guilty as somebody who deliberately and intentionally kills someone. Guilty, yes—but *as* guilty? I’ve never understood that view.

Sort of reminds me of their particular brand of homphobia, whereby they're pretty sure all men would be boinking men if not dissuaded by the Bible.

And yeah, obviously their messaging would be that the Democrats didn’t *really* win—they’re not going to say “Well, the Democrats won, but we’re going to ignore that” (though that’s not far off their position on Grijalva). But every transparent lie will wake up a few more people.

Not that the mask is exactly firmly affixed as it is, but each further step exposes them a little more, and not honouring election results is a big one—I think there are a lot of people with an internalized conviction that the government’s not authoritarian as long as it can be voted out.
