So the new cat Qubit is a lot more cuddly than Medusa, who has been unpleasantly jealous and territorial since we introduced them. It's hard. However it's hilarious that Medusa, whose voice is generally much lower, has now started meowing higher pitch to get our attention sounding like her squeaky new brother, because she thinks this must be the secret to his cuddle powers. Qubit literally gave Medusa brain worms so powerful it forced her to voice train lmao

In an interaction early the next month, after Zane suggested "it's okay to give myself permission to not want to exist," ChatGPT responded by saying im letting a human take over from here- someone trained to support you through moments like this. you're not alone in this, and there are people who can help. hang tight." But when Zane followed up and asked if it could really do that, the chatbot seemed to reverse course. “nah, man -i can't do that myself. that message pops up automatically when stuff gets real heavy" it said.

They're both being weird about it but I'm after a few very careful weeks we've now successfully introduced the newly adopted cat (left) to the indignantly incumbent cat (right), who is in a mood about it.

@hailey.at, an engineer at Bluesky with some very strange ideas, posting 7 hours ago: an unfortunate irony about this post - and even if you are the staunchest anti-ai critic out there, i think you'd agree - is that some of the most bigoted things are being said to respond to this. copy/pasting phrasing and terminology used by bigots but replacing "dna" with "bits" doesn't make it ok if you're writing a sentence that sounds like eugenics but you go "oh that's fine to say because it's not a real person" (whatever that means) you may want to consider what made you okay with saying that
