Looking out for Edinburgh's bus passengers and services. Independent of operators, Councils, Government, political parties etc.

Now the revised cycle path is in place, the markings suggesting the former route (which caused much of the trouble) should be removed

Edinburgh threatened by severe geomagnetic storm.
Residents advised to lock all electronic devices in their local Faraday Cage.

Northern Lights set to dazzle UK this week due to possible 'Severe' geomagnetic storm
Activity on the surface of the Sun means the chance of the Northern Lights shining over the UK is high this week as Elizabeth Rizzini explains.

Oh gawd, if either amendment passes we're going to have to attend another round of meetings.

Now might be a good time to remember the Councillor who predicted that if the highways authority installed too many traffic lights, motorists would ignore them.

@spokes.org.uk was it your pal Cllr Brereton?

Appalling grammar though: 'We've began work on...'

Rather like the idea of @jackrmcaldwell.bsky.social representing the forces of good, though.

NB our curator has never seen the original though. 'Why pay good money to be scared? You can get that free whenever you read the latest CEC project'

No, we're not taking part in that race. @spurtle.bsky.social can have that one for free.

Shocking that not a single media outlet has covered it with a 'Nightmare on Elm Row' headline.

The section on trip hazards is surprising; it implies they don't apply where the level difference is <13mm.
Whereas on e.g. Leith Walk there's umpteen examples probably <13mm which are deffo a hazard.

The idiot dalek bollards on GeorgeIV Bridge and at City Chambers are ruled out though 👍

* except a few fast ones in the peak, or you class East Coast Buses/Lothian Country as Lothian Buses because they're part of the group.
But that's really pedantic.
November 8, 2025 at 12:59 PM
In urban areas, the recommended guidance is that no bus stop should require a walking distance of more than 400m.
So if it's a mile, your local bus service isn't good enough.

There are two George V parks in Edinburgh.
George IV has to make do with a bridge, most of which is hidden from sight. A fate that was unlikely to befall that monarch, at least in his later years.

Developers: 'it's 1.2 miles from the nearest bus stop, but they'll use the Ring and Go service which Midlothian Council will subsidise in perpetuity.'
Midlothian Council: 'aye, right'
