Legions week: Playing wizards? 13,000+ people on EDHREC are, and if you're one of them Riptide Director can draw you a whole lot of cards every turn for 2UU with this fifty cent rare.

Legions week: Playing kindred birds or clerics? I'm sorry. Still, this is a flying body that after blocking a beater can bring a pair of birds and/or clerics back from the yard to play. It's not amazing, but if you wanted amazing you wouldn't be playing birds and clerics.

Legions week: Noxious Ghoul is a brutal one-sided board wipe in zombie decks, and despite seeing play in about 30k zombie lists that's probably not enough.

Legions week: Withered Wretch is a nice bit of utility in a zombie or cleric deck, letting you surgically deal with other people's graveyard nonsense without it impacting your own graveyard nonsense.

Legions week: Tribal Forcemage is a four mana overrun in a kindred/typal deck, and you can even spread that mana out over multiple turns. It's especially good if you're the kinda person playing say elves, who doesn't want to sully your elf list with a non-elf like 'hoof.

Legions week: Being able to give all your wizards in a wizard deck flying for an alpha strike is really useful, especially when the ability is hard to stop short of a stifle. Gempalm Sorcerer isn't amazing, but in the right deck nothing else really does what it does.

Onslaught week: Aurification is an odd duck of a pillowfort card, making all creatures that hit you into walls. One added bit of play here is if you move a gold counter onto another creature, it also becomes a defender that can't attack.

Onslaught week: Wirewood Lodge is really simple; it's a colorless land that untaps target elf. Worst case if you happen to have an elf commander it's pseudo vigilance. But best case it untaps something busted like Lathril, Blade of Elves or Marwyn, the Nurturer.

Onslaught week: Sure it doesn't do much if your opponents are also playing typal, but what are the odds of that? If you're playing a typal deck of some sort, Onslaught entirely skips your stuff, and takes out 2W worth of your opponents bodies every time.

Onslaught week: Giving all your creatures in your typal deck shroud can cause problems, but it's really often worth making all your opponents be unable to interact with your creatures. This card hasn't had a reprint either, making it particularly tricky to track down.

Onslaught week: Akroma's Blessing is an oft-forgotten gem on offense and defense. Need to save your blockers from some chonky attackers? It does that. Need to dodge a Blasphemous Act? It does that. Need to make your stuff unblockable? It does that.

Onslaught week: If you're playing elves, then this Gaea's Cradle at Home is still pretty spectacular. Generally speaking elf decks don't struggle for mana, but if you brew right you can always use more, and Elvish Guidance provides plenty more.

November 4, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Onslaught week: Aphetto Alchemist shows up in a lot of morph decks, but the ability to untap any creature or maybe more importantly any artifact is really useful, maybe more so when attached to a wizard.

Judgment week: Utility land slots have gotten really crowded, but if you've got a way to consistently put lands into the yard, devoting one of them to a land that makes all your lands into Savannahs isn't a bad option.

edhrec.com/cards/riftst...
November 1, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Judgment week: If you hit the threshold, Hunting Grounds lets you play a creature for free whenever your opponent plays a creature. You probably want a deck that has ways to hit threshold aside from hoping it happens, but the upside on this is huge for two mana.

October 31, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Judgment week: Keep Watch is a little more consistent if your deck also goes wide, but even if it doesn't it's really not hard to get 2U mana worth of draw out of this at instant speed in most B2-B3 games.

October 30, 2025 at 5:03 PM
Judgment week: Seedtime, because of course taking extra turns in green makes sense. All you need to do is bait that blue player into countering whatever nonsense you ramped into.

October 28, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Judgment week: Firecat Blitz has a pricey flashback cost, but it doesn't matter as the base spell is so good. Better yet, the cats have been errata'ed to be elemental cats, so in a deck like Omnath, Locus of Rage it's often just a win condition if you have a sacc outlet.

October 27, 2025 at 5:05 PM
Torment week: 1U is cheap to cast, and 1U to pitch a card while drawing a card is really solid in a deck like Green Goblin or Hashaton.

October 26, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Torment week: Last Laugh is kind of a cascading effect, making a thing go to the yard deal damage to things that might make them go to the yard, which deals more damage, etc. In the right deck it can be devastating.

October 25, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Torment week: If you're in a deck running a ton of one kind of basic, Retraced Image is half an Explore at half the cost, which in a deck without access to green is still really good. It's even better in a deck that has some synergy with casting it.

edhrec.com/cards/retrac...
October 24, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Torment week: Notion Thief as a one-time effect is still pretty decent, especially in the kind of blue deck that has added synergy with casting instants and sorceries like Talrand or Octavia.

edhrec.com/cards/plagia...
October 23, 2025 at 5:06 PM
Torment week: The flashback cost on this is steep, but it's still an option if you've got nothing else, and 1B isn't an unreasonable cost for an edict even if you never flash it back.

edhrec.com/cards/chaine...
October 22, 2025 at 5:04 PM
Torment week: What's better than discarding things to reanimate? Bringing things back to your hand to re-use as you do it. Nostalgic Dreams does all the things reanimation decks want, filling the yard and letting you recur stuff that reanimates things in the yard.

October 21, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Torment week: Destroying all enchantments in a single spell in white isn't necessarily unique to Cleaning Meditation, but it's the only spell that can bring them all back to play if you have threshold , something often enabled by the Cleaning Meditation you just cast.
