Yeah, charging for more minor things like that I think is much better than paywalling whole articles; I think the proliferation of the latter has been pretty much a net-negative for journalism online

The one thing from that section I would recommend not doing is paywalled posts. Creator monetization is definitely good but paywalls are imo an ethically problematic way of monetizing your blog

Yeah, raising the character limit a bit and adding more support for long-form blog posts is probably the best way to go about reducing toxicity imo. It really just might be time to stop trying to keep Bluesky a 'pure' microblogging site
