Tuesday's playlist is belatedly up at www.edgeofjazz.com A cornucopia of styles and origin - from Denmark through Poland and onto Brazil- as well as the usual mixture of old, new and yet to be released.

11th November playlistup now at www.edgeofjazz.com Pretty much the whole gamut from Polish and Ethiopian Jazz to Blue Note classics and a smattering of new stuff too. I'll also be avoiding all Christmas related tracks right through to the end of the year.

Yesterday's playlist up now at www.edgeofjazz.com A varied show of new and ancient (The Dizzy Gillespie track was recorded in 1947!) together with a first foray into Polish jazz/funk. Every Tuesay afternoon at 14:00.

@bsky.app Playlist for Tuesday's show is up at www.edgofjazz.com Once again apologies for lateness...blame it on the DAB+ extension plans into East Devon that will shortly have an on-air date.
October 31, 2025 at 10:46 AM
Tuesday's playlist is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com Apologies for the delay, but we heard on Tuesday that our DAB+ extension into East Devon has been given the go ahead...there's a lot of work to be done!
October 23, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Yesterday's playlist is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com A real cross section of material that can be called 'Jazz'. The most venerable track was the Dave Brubeck Quartet from 1961.
October 15, 2025 at 10:10 AM
Last weeks playlist is up now at www.edgeofjaz.com Tardiness entirely due to pressure of work - long time since I've used that as an excuse. Apologies!
October 12, 2025 at 3:24 PM
For reasons I can't explain the playlist for 30th September is already up at www.edgeofjazz.com Able to play the full version of Blue Train amongst the old, the new and the yet to be released. I may even have time to blog later in the week!
September 30, 2025 at 4:40 PM
The playlist from the show from 23rd September is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com If all goes well the show should appear on themixcloud page soon!
September 24, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Tuesday's playlist is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com I continue to be amazed at the sound quality of some of the early recordings I play - this weeks Cannonball Adderley & Milt Jackson from 1958 for example.
September 19, 2025 at 9:26 AM
Pleased to say that the website is fully up to date again at www.edgeofjazz.com Having a break is great..but the downside is the accumulation of things that need doing when you get back!
September 11, 2025 at 10:08 AM
Yesterday's playlist up at www.edgeofjazz.com Parts of the playlist were pretty languid - as befitted the studio temperature which even with the air con and fan full on was 25c. Cool jazz for a hor afternoon, indeed! Kate Gamm sits in next week.
August 13, 2025 at 9:17 AM
The 5th August playlist is up now at www.edgeofjazz.comThe Lee Morgan track was the oldest (1956) and for the first time ever I managed to play a request on the day it was asked for. Thanks, Adrian, and more 'Stuff' to come after more digging in the crates
August 6, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Yesterday's playlist up now at www.edgeofjazz.com It was as eclectic mix as you'd expect from a show that tries to encompass the widest range of anything that can be called 'jazz'.
July 30, 2025 at 8:53 AM
Finally...the playlist is up at www.edgeofjazz.com and the show is available to listen to @mixcloud.bsky.social , but with the obviois blunder about the date, which should read 22nd. Must do better!
July 25, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Yesterday's show is up now @mixcloud.bsky.social Sticky fingers means that its posted as 2nd July - but it was the 22nd! Full of nourishing goodness as well as an explanation of why the show has its name.
July 23, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Yesterday's playlist is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com Some old,(1956), some new (2025) and some unreleased as yet. I tried to fit music to the weather, but largely failed! Even with air-con full on, the studio was really warm yesterday!
July 9, 2025 at 9:02 AM
Special thanks to Kate Gamm for sitting in on Edge of Jazz last week. Her admirable choice is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com
This week, to quote Calvin Coolidge it'll be 'back to normalcy', whatever that is....
July 7, 2025 at 11:16 AM
Yesterday's playlist is up now at www.edgeofjazz.com The Charles Mingus was the oldest and #BettyAcorrsi the most recent. Some belting oldies especially the #Richrd'groove'Holmes which I found digging in the crates.
June 11, 2025 at 9:23 AM
Yesterday's playlist is up at www.edgeofjazz.com The oldest track yesterady was #RayCharles & #MiltJackson from 1957 and illustrated just how different recorded sound was then and now - very little bass and starnge stereo separation.
June 4, 2025 at 10:01 AM
There's a new posting on the blog page at www.edgeofjazz.com It's an update on forthcoming plans for an extension of our coverage area on Phonic FM
June 2, 2025 at 9:33 AM
Yesterday's playlist up at www.edgeofjazz.com New releases galore at the moment, and difficult to fit them into a playlist. Not too many golden oldies on the list, the oldest from 1959. Have you noticed I blog on the website - sometimes!
May 28, 2025 at 9:02 AM
Yesterday's playlist is up at www.edgeofjazz.com There's a definite #ChetBaker feeling to parts of it, but the programme covers 1952 to 2025 with some cracking #BlueNote material as ever tuckedin there!
May 21, 2025 at 9:08 AM
Finally managed to get up to date with the playlist! The last two weeks can be found at www.edgeofjazz.com - you'll have to look under archive for the end of April's. It's been a very busy couple of weeks!
May 7, 2025 at 11:52 AM
