Great news. Would have made a huge difference to me for the ten years when I was a private renter. Annual rent rises / fear of evictions were such a source of stress for years. And I could have gotten a cat sooner too 🐈‍⬛️
Labour’s Renters’ Rights Act means:

🏠No more bidding wars to secure a tenancy
🏠Maximum of 1 month’s rent upfront
🏠Rolling monthly tenancies
🏠Fair rules for pets
🏠End to no-fault evictions

Taking a weight off of renters everywhere but especially is West Ham and Beckton.

Wonder what services or community groups they'll end up cutting funding to to fund this?

Agreed. Even a couple of minutes a day was actively destroying my mood - it's designed to do it now! A couple of posters I miss but would never look at it again
Leaving it fully behind has just dropped a load of stress from my life.
There’s this weird tendency to respond to critiques of twitter by noting that bluesky is insufferable but like. I don’t care. Go to threads. Post on somethingawful. Get into carrier pigeons. Your brain is rotten and will get worse til you leave there

The cruelty is the point
The Trump regime is about to burn 500 tons of USAID emergency food. Why?
Because it expired after its shipment was delayed.

1.5 million children could have eaten for a week. Now, taxpayers will spend $130K for it to be destroyed.

This isn’t just inefficient – it’s cruel.

Nine years on, Brexit is widely seen as a failure.

Most Britons would now vote to rejoin. Even Leave voters are turning.

Brexit has hurt the economy, businesses, and public finances.

The public has moved on. Time for politics to catch up.

Me too!
"The UK will also rejoin the Erasmus student exchange scheme." The Times

If true, this would make me very happy as a former Erasmus student in the UK. Erasmus changed my life for good. I will be forever very grateful.

Busy, sunny Saturday meeting residents across the ward - great to visit Spire Cafe & see the revamped spire without scaffolding too!

Agree with this. I've had the privilege of seeing UK aid work up close, and I wish more people could see it and understand the impact. Cutting is the wrong thing to do

Great news! All young Europeans should have the opportunity to live and work across Europe. It's been one of the biggest casualties of Brexit. Now to rejoin Erasmus too

What I've always said - the next leader of the Tory Party with a shot at becoming PM (which is not Kemi Badenoch) will have to admit Brexit (not just in execution, but in concept) was a mistake
And THIS is very refreshing.

It feels like we are moving forward. We all know Brexit was a horrendous farce. We need our leaders to say it. And then we can have fresh, clear conversations.
