Recently, over 1,400 were killed in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, & Malaysia. Many villages are still buried under mud and debris, with power and telecommunications out. A NASA study in 2021 found that the proportion of the world’s population exposed to floods grew by 20 - 24%between 2000 & 2018.
