Combining EEG and fMRI brain scans gives a clearer picture of teens' future anxiety risk.

Glad to see this paper finally out! It builds on awesome EEG source localization work by Dr. Stefania Conte @binghamtonu.bsky.social and uses new, crucial statistical methods developed by @yifeng.bsky.social!
Integrating EEG and functional MRI measures of error monitoring improved estimations of changes in adolescents’ future anxiety. ja.ma/4ofoYdF

GOOD EVENING, DORKS.

Did you know you can call your senators and house rep and ask for specific grants to be restored? You can ask for specific jobs to be restored. You can ask for data to be restored. You can ask for teams tracking food safety to be restored.

Do what you want with this info!

We can claim to live in the greatest country on earth because we respect freedom of speech & individual liberties, OR we can kidnap people w/out due process because we don't like their tattoos or their op-eds & ship them to mega-prisons in other countries. That's it. We don't get to have both.

Meanwhile, I'm glad to see PCSAS' page on DEIJ remains up. Let's hope they, at least, stand firm. pcsas.org/about-pcsas/...

Last year, I was overjoyed to receive an NIH NRSA fellowship to study toddler brains and caregiving effects on memory at Columbia. Last night, my grant was terminated.

🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.

This is a very bad day for science
I'm hearing through colleagues that this is the source of the NIH study section cancellations. From the link - need for contracts/grants to agree to comply with the "anti-discrimination" laws and having terms to certify they do not operate programs promoting DEI.

I'd definitely work for stickers. Love this!
Teaching evals are in and I consider my 'Ask Q, get psychology sticker' pilot a success:
"I found that the professor encouraged class engagement by giving out stickers in class. Maybe this is my own personal opinion, but I would actively listen and participate in lectures because of the stickers."
