Okay. Apparently, the album had been in development before the Ediacaran was recognized, and they just didn't add it in last minute. I get that. Their music is generally complex. It does make me a little sad, though.

And let's not forget that actual ancient dinosaur DNA has been proven to work. Using, say, a chicken to make a Mezozoic style dinosaur would probably lead to torturous effects during the trial and error stages.

The current DNA record is 2 million years... Very different from 65 million.
Frankly, I'm surprised that it was that old. It actually makes me reconsider the possibility of Mezozoic DNA still existing, but again... It's many times older.
