Your zip code should not determine your air quality.

Communities overburdened by air pollution have fewer federal air monitors, making it difficult to protect themselves and their families from poor air quality. Vision 2030 will put #air monitors where they’re needed most.

Vision 2030 is our five-year plan to build the data infrastructure environmental justice communities need as public #data access and #funding continues to decline.

🌱 Today, give communities data-powered tools to protect their #health, environment, and future in the U.S. South.

📚💪 Access to environmental information is key to long-term community resilience.

This year, E2I2 partnered with the West Anniston Foundation to build a community reference library that hosts scientific #data, archival records, and local knowledge to strengthen #environmental awareness and action.

We’re raising $10,000 to keep environmental data in community hands, because community-owned data cannot be hidden or erased when they need it most.

Every contributions, big or small, supports free data and technical support in the U.S. South.

At e2i2.org, we independently collect, and simplify, air pollution data for communities at risk of hazardous environmental exposure.

Our work addresses the difficulty in sourcing and interpreting scientific data for grassroots efforts against environmental challenges across the South.

Building a robust community air monitoring network would close a critical environmental data gap and enable communities to:

✊Respond to long-term air pollution
🚨React to events like chemical accidents
👥 Protect local health & prevent environmental degradation

👥☁︎ Today, more people living in the U.S. are experiencing harmful pollution levels than they did last year.

On International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, we’re reminded that we don’t experience air pollution equally.

Environmental hazards like lead in water or extreme heat seriously affect perinatal health. This hits especially hard in the U.S., where Black birthing persons die from pregnancy-related causes at nearly 3x the national rate. Plus, the Southeast sees some of the worst infant mortality numbers. (1/3)

👋 Let's break down some environmental data. What's PM2.5?

💡PM2.5 stands for particulate matter. In our data reporting, we use it to describe a mixture of liquid and solid particles suspended in the air emitted from sources like construction sites, roadways, industrial facilities, or landfills.
