View along the Russian air base Belaya, Irkutsk region. Showing multiple fires throughout the area. It looks like the northern part of the airbase (where Tu-160 were located) was less affected than the rest.

It looks like Russia is planning to expand the frontline - lets hope that Ukraine has built up border defenses and some reserve units...
❗️Putin says Russian forces are now working to create a "security buffer zone" along the Russia–Ukraine border. Recently, Ukrainian commanders reported that they saw Russian troop buildup along the Kharkiv border. In Sumy, Russian forces are already active.

The thing that the Trump crew don't realise is that US alliances and treaties allow the country to benefit from huge capital inflows *because* its behaviour is predictable. They might complain about free-riding on that system, but they can't have it both ways.

I'm always super intrigued by borders that can be seen from space.
For example, why is Uzbek desert spectrally different from Kazakh desert? Or why are Dutch farms more lush than Belgian ones?
Is it just a mosaicing artefact or is there an underlying political/economic/cultural reason?

Something tells me that bombing frontline positions without stand-off munitions (or without flying high after suppressing/destroying enemy SAMs) isnt a viable tactics in conventional peer warfare in 2025+ anymore...
