tch: patch, catch, pitch, witch, fetch, sketch, switch, crutch, match, hatch, itch, stretch

tip: most of the ch words have an n before the ch)

It's because if there is a consonant before the /ch/ sound, we spell it with ch. But, if there is a short vowel right before the /ch/, we spell it as tch.

Consonant before the /ch/ --> spell as ch

Short vowel before the /ch/ --> spell as tch

The most common form is phonological dyslexia which is characterized by difficulties in decoding words based on their sounds.

I'm so glad this is being understood better! Back when I was in school kids that struggled with reading were seen as lazy or not very smart - even by teachers!
