I seem to remember they were making an absolute killing in the mobile market at that time, a game that was doing around a million yen in profit a day or something? I can see why they swore off AAA console dev.

Always wondered if Downpour's sales were what really tanked SH back in 2012, the HD Collection probably didn't help but the new mainline title doing so bad must have discouraged them greatly.

Would love to know how Downpour sold considering I think they scrapped a PC port for it due to heinous sales.

I'm pretty sure that's the case, based on some very old NA sales data for the games. I do think it's possible that OG SH2 eventually sold over 1M but I'm not sure about that. I don't think there's ever been concrete data on worldwide sales before.

I can't imagine any of the 00s games sold better than this, especially not after 4 but who knows?

Yup, exactly like that. It's very reckless detection and ignores the existence of a tagging system to begin with.

Can only suspect that whatever flags things for nudity is based on image recognition and its image recognition sucks. Probably based entirely off how much "skin" it detects in the image and is easily fooled by lighting or other environment details. Discord has something similar and it's also awful.
