One of the best things about having a new book out is @oliviarutigliano.bsky.social photoshopping my book into different movies and making me spit take laugh. These two really got me.

I have a new book out today - The House on Buzzards Bay - and I'm mostly just remembering this day exactly 2 years ago when I had another book out and my 3 y.o. told her teachers I was going on tour as a ballet dancer and everyone in our town just sort of accepted that as fact for about a month.

2 weeks until pub and a few places have said nice things about THE HOUSE ON BUZZARDS BAY and the good people @vikingbooks.bsky.social put those statements on a backdrop of murderous seagulls and osprey, for which I'm very grateful.

I'm new here, but feels like a safe space to admit I recently spent an entire writing day reading about Ella Fitzgerald recording the Rodgers & Hart songbook, then another writing day trying to shoehorn a bunch of Ella & Lorenz Hart stuff into a crime novel. It's all gonna work out fine, I think...

Very grateful to @literaryhub.bsky.social for shouting on THE HOUSE ON BUZZARDS BAY, even if they called it a psychosexual thriller, which it is, and now I have to go to readings in Massachusetts where presumably my old grade school teachers are going to show up. Still, really grateful tho
