#Schumer “Retire” is a better word than “resign.” More dignified.

Dear Mr. Schumer: it’s time to retire.
Dear Democrats: don’t compromise. Say no.
This is what Chuck Schumer should have said when asked. It’s not too late.

Where are you? We never see you. Do you ever get out and talk to your constituents? You are invisible. You wouldn’t endorse Mamdani. That’s your prerogative. Now would be the time to publicly congratulate him and pledge to help him succeed. .
#Schumer Be honest. We all know you voted for Cuomo. Why not just say so?

Tell us why you think he would be a better mayor, then say that despite voting for Cuomo you’ll work hard to make sure Mamdani succeeds.

We want leaders who have the courage of their convictions.

You need to retire.
Remember 9/11? All those years of Islamophobia, of surveilling and vilifying Muslims, of Muslim bans.

Who would have thought that 24 years later we would have a Muslim mayor of NYC!

Thank you to all the New Yorkers who made this happen.
Mamdani started his campaign by listening to New Yorkers . Going to neighborhoods and asking people how they’re doing and what they would like to change in NYC.

Listening. Really listening, not just waiting for the person to stop talking so you can talk. That’s how you do it.
Their plan is to keep Democrats from voting in 2026. Then they don’t have to be popular.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

Krugman today refers to Adam Serwer’s essay in Trump’sfirst term. “The Cruelty Is the Point.”

We know Trump doesn’t care about other people. More than that, he loves cruelty: making people suffer, humiliating them.

It’s called sadism. Enjoying other people’s pain.
And imagine how many more who are not citizens but are here legally. Green cards, work permits.
And this is why I unsubscribed from the Washington Post.
Yes, some people love seeing ICE abusing people. They’re happy with white people replacing competent black people. So they give 👍🏼to Trump even if their economic lives are worse.

But lots of upper middle class and wealthy folk voted for Trump. Stock market & taxes. Only 5%? Maybe a little more.
It’s possible CNN’s polling is off. I’d like to see other polls like this from reliable pollsters.
Also many J6 people were middle class.
People who are invested in the stock market. The market keeps going up. One-issue voters: “my wealth is increasing, my taxes are low, I ❤️Trump.”

Everyone talks about working-class Trump voters. I’ve seen zero articles about wealthy folks who voted for him bc they didn’t want their taxes raised.
Thank you. Why do you think Jeffries been completely silent on the issue? It’s shameful.
Is this legal?

Can’t the Speaker be sued for refusing to swear in a congresswoman? What about keeping the House of Representatives closed indefinitely? Is that okay?

Dereliction of duty?
#SNAP Minimum wage $7.25/hr. Work full time, your annual salary is $15,000.

Imagine a single parent on $15k per year. Imagine a family of 4 where Dad works full time, Mom home with baby & toddler.

Work full time. Live in poverty.

The working poor aren’t lazy. They need higher pay.

Democrats Condemn Trump Administration for Secrecy on Boat Strikes www.nytimes.com/2025/10/30/u... The punishment for the crime of drug trafficking is NOT execution. We are not at war. Drug dealers aren’t terrorists. They’re criminals. The US once declared a war on poverty. No one was executed.

#Jamaica They will desperately need help.

Any US president of the last 30 years would send help. Trump will not. The GOP will not.

Pray for Jamaica. 🙏🏼
