I GTFO of Texas when Abbott first started talking about capping rates without fixing the tax assessment system. A race to the bottom for school funding. All so they can stick it to young people moving in from California I guess.

Also, it would be a huge mistake for Democrats not to make Bessent the poster boy for farmers that will take handouts, then put a boot on the necks of the others less fortunate.

I believe MUD tax are assessed on tax value also. The tax assessment system in Texas is dysfunctional and corrupt. HOA fees can be outrageous, but not always.

It's worth considering how they intend to hold onto power. I think Trump creates a new position by executive order above his lackey President that gets into office with a sham election. His title will be something silly like Regent General. Mainstream people won't take it seriously, but it will be.

Tax values are way below market values for many in Texas. In those instances high property tax becomes an incentive to sit on a home.
