I serendipitously took a screengrab of BA.3.2's emergence just before GISAID bailed... and kept popping back to check on its progress - but the G-plug had been pulled, with 3.2 vanishing into the air.

If "COVID-19" is a non-medically useful term made up out of thin air by the WHO to describe the fallout of SARS-CoV-2 infection, then where does that leave the patient-invented "Long COVID-19"?

Yes: 'brain fog' in a COVID-19 context is unequivocally SARS-CoV-2-induced
brain damage.
Imagine a doctor writing 'lung fog' in your notes, when in fact you have pneumonia.
Imagine calling the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 "COVID-19", when it shares a 79% sequence identity to the 2002-'04 SARS-CoV?

![SARSCoV-1 and SARSCoV-2 are 79% identical, and both cause severe acute respiratory distress.
They result in different disease severities (you’re less likely to die from SARSCoV-2), so by analogy to HIV-1/2→AIDS, the diseases they cause should be considered the same: SARS.
However, [in 2019] the WHO stepped in (why does the CDC have to defer to them anyway?) and decided that the one requirement for the name was that it not mention SARS.
Thus the terrible name COVID-19 was chosen.

My black-and-grey 3Pro is... neutral - and doesn't clash with any other colours in my living-room.
I would buy another grey-black unit - but I wouldn't buy this one. Perhaps offer a colour choice?
