Filling out these forms today to transfer my Roth IRA from Schwab to Green Century. Was already planning to do this before the stock market crash but when I heard Charles Schwab made $2.5B off the chaos, well, that pretty much solidified it for me.

I’ve had a Roth IRA with Domini Social Investments for many years now and noticed that two of the companies they invest the funds with are Tesla and Amazon. I put in a message saying that these companies do not match my values. I got a response that I can’t copy here, but here is how I responded:

Hand-dyed nuno felted infinity scarf made by me. Colors: gold, green, and a bit of purple. Poster behind mannequin reads: We Won’t Keep Quiet in pink letters on black background (letterpress print by Diane’s Printery). #wewontkeepquiet #resist #nunofelt #handfelted #infinityscarf #slowfashion Me using a palm sander (without sand paper) to gently vibrate wet, soapy wool fibers into cotton cheesecloth to form felted fabric. A sheet of thin plastic keeps the water away from the electrical appliance and also serves to hold the wool in place. The combination of water, soap, and gentle agitation starts the felting process. #wip #feltingprocess #wetfelting This photo shows how the felting project starts. The infinity scarf is constructed around a thin foam sheet, called a resist. I wrap my hand-dyed cheesecloth around it and use masking tape to secure the edges ( the masking tape falls off later). Then I lay an even layer of wool fiber on top, put on embellishments like waste silk thread, and carefully wet down the piece with soapy water. This is done on both sides of the resist to create a seamless infinity scarf.

Returning in my mind to a day in September when my family visited this lighthouse in Maine. They open the lighthouse once a year to only 300 people- first come first served- to climb to the top. I ended up giving my ticket to a stranger (not noble, just afraid of heights) but my family went up
Sketching the scene from a photo I took of the Portland Head Light. The base is a piece of wool felt. This photo makes the reference photo on my iPad look too blue #fiberartstudio #artistatwork #process #portlandheadlight Needle felted lighthouse art almost complete. Photo shows the reference photo, some of the wool fiber I use to create the picture, and the 8x10 picture. At this point I could rip out anything I don’t like. When I’m satisfied, I’ll densely pierce the whole thing with fine barbed needles to make the wool fibers adhere to the base fabric #onmyworktable #workinprogress #artsupplies #woolart Lighthouse artwork. In this photo you can see the needle marks but after I go over it with fine needles they will be almost invisible. Steam ironing at the end smoothes it out. I like to photograph my work at different stages of completion because the camera sees what I miss. Like that line in the sky between shades of blue! I bought a beautiful Shetland wool batt from a Massachusetts farm last weekend and used it to felt a scarf. No knitting, crocheting, or sewing. Just soapy water and lots of rolling. #handmade #sustainablefashion

My afternoon plans fell through so I decided to use the time to warp my rigid heddle loom. The first pic shows the warp threads as I pull every other one through the holes in the heddle. Pic 2 is the loom ready to weave. Pic 3 shows some of the weft yarns I’ve chosen #weaving #warping
