Inazuma

An idea I had for a while before I was finally able to give it some life. Inazuma was one of my crested geckos that was a cornerstone for many projects. His name is Japanese for lightning.

With this in mind I wanted to make gecko Inazuma resemble, somewhat, Eastern dragons depicted in art. His head is in the lower middle-left with his back towards the viewer. This piece features the meaning of his name, with clouds and lightning striking all around him. There is the kanji for inazuma in the upper middle left.

On the left is a Silver Marble Fox and on the is a Georgian White Fox, which are both color mutations of the red fox (Vulpus vulpus) that are extremely similar to one another.  They are conjoined twins in the image to highlight the similarities between these two mutations. Their yukata and obi are made from washi origami paper and are painted to gives them shadows and depth.  Their eyes, the lantern, and the gold light are all painted with pearlescent metallic pigmented watercolors from and shine and sparkle depending on the angle.
