How exciting!! I just saw the film for the first time myself earlier this year, it's so charming and engaging! I wish I would've seen it as a kid--you're doin' 'em good!!

I found a portion of my reference folder!! "Camera movements" "camera trouble" reminding me I was thinking of suggesting how to emulate some of the botched double exposure effects and camera jitter in some of these early cartoons haha oh man

Watching this one on TV right now and just wanted to express how good it is!! It’s so rewarding to be able to appreciate it all over again with the knowledge of cartoons (and Sponge cartoons!) I have now. I was so excited to explain this joke to my mom when we watched the OG film when I was younger

And I got to design the title card! My memory's sadly a bit fuzzy on all the influences I used, but I'm pretty sure I used some Laurel and Hardy title cards as inspiration for design elements (and Our Gang/Little Rascals, of course!)

I had a ton of fun emulating a lot of quirks of the time--impact lines, doing the effects a bit more "crudely" than how I usually would, shadows where applicable, and we got to use a lot of irises and feather wipess, which I love! I love getting to combine my passions and knowledge like this
