His advocacy was central in bringing in specialised equipment — including EV emergency plugs and non-conductive tools — now standard across frontline appliances.

Never one to stand still, Dominic recently graduated with a degree in Electric Vehicle Engineering from ATU.

Known as a competent and respected leader, Dominic always recognised potential in others and took every opportunity to share his knowledge — whether on station, at incidents, or teaching on DFB courses.

Dominic’s journey of public service began well before joining the Brigade. He served for seven years in the Irish Defence Forces, serving with distinction, including two UN missions to Lebanon.
