We rarely do find indications of a specific age in these earlier coins, although it is remarkable that Zeus was depicted in very different fashions in die-related sequences (the obverse dies CD and CE share a common reverse die: δτ) 1/2

"The oldest and most beautiful head of Zeus (sc. from Olympia/Elis)…"
"Der älteste und schönste elische Zeuskopf (aus Olympia)…" (Regling 1924, 78 referring to this coin (421–365 BCE) today in Berlin: ikmk.smb.museum/object?id=18...). #numismatics #AncientBluesky

These little cupids are working hard to finish their garlands! Eight of them are already hanging from the top, between them erhaps four oscilla(?). This tiny object, which is only 3 cm wide, is made from glas paste and stems from the famous collection of Paul Arndt.

The obverse shows a draped and diademed bust of Achaeus, the reverse a depiction of Athena Alkis. The imagery is perhaps influenced by the contemporary silver #coins of Philipp V. of #Macedon (coin shown below from here ikmk.smb.museum/object?id=18... ).

A unique #coin (www.bavarikon.de/object/bav:S...)!
Achaeus was the cousin of Seleucus III and Antiochus III. In 220 he declared himself king and made Sardes the capital of his kingdom. The #gold stater shown below is perhaps to be interpreted as an inauguration issue.
