Yeah... my parents' health is declining, and I'm looking around thinking "Hey, I might have to make a real difficult decision regarding travel in the not-so-distance future that I never really thought would _have to require a decision_."

Outlook is just the worst.

It decided to stop sending me ANY notifications recently (either on PC desktop OR iPhone... ) until I just went in and... toggled everything back on and off again.

Of course they gave it stripes

These are so good!

I think it would be very helpful; so much commentary is on “follow your dreams” and not enough on “whoa boy there are some roadblocks for certain peoples”

Happy to chime in, though lately I have been told to stop being so negative… 🤣

What the fuck is wrong with the VIC gov’t?

It’s so good.

Their debut before this has some gems, too.
The follow-up is a weird misstep into Nu Metal, and was a real let-down when I grabbed it. Still some good ideas here and there, but overall a real head-scratcher.

But this one - this is one of my all-time faves.

Absolutely!

It also really makes me want to make music, but nothing I do comes out as effortlessly cool as this!

My immediate pick:

Machines of Loving Grace: “Concentration” (1993)

This is the band and the album I push on everyone. Fantastic funky, icy, aggressive, electro-rock. They never scored it big, and seemed to have faded away completely, and it’s a shame.

This album is a stunner.

My high school gf got me into them, and I later got to see them open for Live back in… 2000? Maybe?

They were so good! Such a cool swirl of flavours.

My girlfriend back then LOVED that Belle and Sebastian album.

This is a good one!!

From Greek “deinos” and the Ancient Egyptian cat-headed goddess Bastet.

Jr synonym of the utterly horrible Homotherium (“same beast”)

Look at how much we lost…

Ahh yes, one of the many perks of living Down Under.

This was THE book.

I loved it so, so much; wish I still had it.

Someone is excited.

It’s me.

Yeah! I recall seeing some actual ~fairly complete Deinosuchus skulls posted from a collection on Twitter a few years ago, but of course can't find that anymore.

It's a shame that this is pretty much the only thing you can get, even now.

Still really upset that I had to decline the invitation to submit a manuscript in this issue - more than once (and once in person!).

Just not easy for someone not in an academic position anymore to put together. Even if there are things sitting around waiting to be done (or just to be published)

The diversity and disparity within just Vombatiformes is enormous!
Once marsupials 'got' to eat plants, they went evolutionarily gonzo.

Nitrocellulose ages almost immediately, and does so in response to the player’s body and habits.

Polyurethane does not. At all. Ever.

Now people have to pay for “custom shop faux-relic” finishes if they want a guitar that looks (and feels) like it has been played.
