Yeah things have been so peaceful lately
I'm honestly terrified of what the right will use this as justification for. They're itching to engage in violence against their enemies and this will give them the excuse to do so. This is why political violence is never acceptable. It just descends into uncontrollable chaos and more violence.

The inevitable response will not be gun control, increased funding for mental health services, or any effort to cool tensions and “lower the temperature”

It will be more ICE raids, national guard deployed to Democratic cities, and a further erosion of civil rights

Six months of congestion pricing in NYC has produced “perhaps the fastest ever environmental improvement from any policy in US history,” @us.theguardian.com’s Oliver Milman reports.

New York City’s congestion pricing has cut pollution and traffic – but Trump still wants to kill it
With less congestion, less carbon pollution, less accidents, could it be a model for other US cities? Six months in, environmentalists say yes

a big & fascinating feature on @thenarwhal.ca today about how BC gave away around 20% of Vancouver Island's land mass to pay for a rail line — a 137-year-old transaction that is continuing to stymy negotiations for the First Nations whose homelands were sold without their consent
Just 5 per cent of B.C. is private land — but for these Hul'qumi'num nations, 85 per cent of their traditional territories are privately owned, the legacy of a 137-year-old "land grab" by the province. Is there a path to justice? thenarwhal.ca/bc-first-nat...

Not really sure how this could be worse. Pay attention Canada, this kind of weaponized incompetence and corruption will be a feature of the CPC.

Here’s a few things you can expect temporarily when there’s an outage:

- “Invalid Handle” everywhere
- Likes don’t seem to work (they’re just being slow)
- Your post isn’t showing up (same, just being slow)
- Random errors or blank screens, the usual app broken stuff
