Just saw surgeon for post-op visit and now I can’t remember if he said I can walk without assists yet or nah because I couldn’t hear him over my brain screaming about his maskless face and how unprofessional that is😑.

As a journalist, this is why I continue to write about Covid in the present tense.
@who.int Director-General's remarks at a media briefing on 10 December 2024:

"We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense. It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and Long COVID, and it still kills.

The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to."

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

The idea that kids are low risk for post-COVID disability is based on error-riddled, retracted research.

Long COVID occurs in kids after 10-20% of infections. 6M in the US so far.

COVID denialism is an issue of child welfare. Their future and society’s is on the line.

And you can take action! 🧵

I work almost exclusively with young people. I am seeing this unfold in real time.
People really need to understand this.

Neurodegeneration from repeat covid infections is aging the brains of young people FASTER.🧠

Increasing the risk for alzheimers and dementia and causing brain fog.😶‍🌫️

The only hope for sufferers is avoiding reinfection until antivirals get made.💊

Wear an N95!😷
You may think that neurological symptoms in #LongCovid are for old people, but it is the opposite. Young adults (18–44 years) and middle-aged (45–64 years) with mild acute #COVID cases (non-hospitalized), represent 90% of the cases of #NeuroCovid. Read here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
