If we want real solutions, our response has to start with addressing the root causes of addiction, not just the symptoms. That's why we advocate for more treatment, health services, economic security, and housing

We all want safer streets. But instead of investing in what works—housing, treatment, mental healthcare, & community support—President Trump is proposing to put people into prisons or detentions centers instead, while cutting funding & access to Medicaid, housing, & healthcare.

Deeply saddened by the passing of James "Fergie" Ferguson II: civil rights leader, fierce racial justice advocate, and founding DPA board member. His legal work desegregated schools nationwide. He challenged us to not only end the war, but to repair harms and build a world towards peace.

The message from parents to Congress is clear: invest in health, treatment, and overdose prevention NOW, don’t gut funding. We joined a group of parents - who’ve lost children to overdose or have children living with addiction - to advocate for the services they know save lives.

Many people who seek addiction treatment can’t access it due to barriers such as insurance denials, month-long wait times, and a lack of providers. Treatment must be more accessible and available on demand for those who seek and need it.
