The grad student instructor, I meant, just in case that wasn’t clear

And punitive damages paid to the student, if cleared by the investigation.

And doesn’t the voting public have a right to know what was found on those phones?
November 12, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Unless I’m mistaken, the voting public never got to see what was found on those phones, right? There are millions of us who would like to know.

The next Dem president (if there ever is one) should demand Axios pay a $1 billion settlement for this.

All true, but perhaps the saddest part is that Trump’s idea is closer to a single-payer system than anything any Democrat has ever put before Congress for a vote.
November 8, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Trump just proposed a far more radical version of single-payer healthcare than any Democrat had ever dreamed of.

If you go back and read my post, you’ll see that the only thing at stake is whether or not I would admit to being wrong by offering the comparison I made.
November 3, 2025 at 11:27 PM
I’ll be happy to come back and admit I was wrong if: Comey, James, and Bolton are not only acquitted but declared actually innocent; they are compensated for their legal fees and lost time, and awarded compensatory damages.
November 3, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Just a little over nine months into this term, Trump’s DOJ has indicted Comey, James, and Bolton . . . etc. How many comparable high-level indictments were there nine months into Biden’s term?

Plagiarism detection software absorbs every student paper it checks into its database. It thus uses students’ work (usually) without their consent and (always) without compensation.
November 2, 2025 at 8:29 PM
Yes, just like plagiarism detectors, which I have always refused to use for that very reason.

Maybe McConnell is trying to set himself up as the Democratic presidential nominee in ‘28, because he knows how eager the Dem consultant class would be to argue that voters have to hold their noses and choose the conservative, geriatric white guy because we just can’t risk a Vance presidency.

The problem isn’t so much what questions Democrats will be asked. It’s that they don’t know how (or are not willing to) turn those questions around on reporters by bringing up
Hegseth’s tattoos, most of what Stephen Miller has ever said, etc. and demanding that they hound Republicans about all that.
October 30, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Interesting idea, but what might we *do* with the results? So many engaged voters from across the spectrum tend to think that the majority of the citizenry is ignorant. What purposes might this kind of polling serve other than stoking the egos of people (left/right/other) who are more engaged?
October 29, 2025 at 6:15 PM
You make a valid point. Not all punishment is literal violence, but much of it can be metaphorical violence. In many cases, though, undoing MAGA damage—say, by expanding SCOTUS so that Trump nominees are in the minority—can be both progress and punishment, at least in my view.
October 21, 2025 at 9:11 PM
Both questions should be asked.
October 21, 2025 at 7:20 PM
I never called for violence. Please re-read my post.
October 21, 2025 at 11:55 AM
Outvoting them is not going to be enough—not unless the people we vote in are determined to (and promise to) not only undo as much as possible of what MAGA has done, but also punish the people who did it and make restitution to those who were harmed by it.

Hakeem Jeffries should swear the new representative in, even if the law does not allow him to. That would put the onus on Johnson to either do the swearing-in himself immediately or go to the courts to argue that a duly elected rep should not take office.
