Most of my family members work/ed in elementary, middle and/or high schools. If there's a sector of the economy where workers and "consumers" are more subject to frequent trend-chasing at the whim of administrators, I don't know what it is.

It's actually helpful for teachers to communicate to parents how kids are doing in terms of developmental milestones, which is what this actually is, not a "report card" in the sense of grades.

This is one of my favorite things about reading on the Kindle (the other is my ability to increase print size b/c whew, aging) - I can instantly look up words and references I'm a little uncertain of. And I have a large vocabulary already.
