Teicoplanin, an antibiotic used in patients with apparent penicillin allergy, is itself highly allergenic.

Huge value in de-labeling penicillin allergy efforts.

4/end The most interesting part for me though is the list of metrics that patients and caregivers thought were a priority but healthcare professionals did not, which included:
- patient seen before surgery
- equity
- patient satisfaction
- staffing & supervision
- continuity of care

3/n These are the core metrics identified. Useful for any department developing their own metrics for a perioperative care service.

Am personally drawn to no. 24 on the list - "Anesthesiologist present"

2/n Authors did a modified Delphi study to identify a core list of metrics relevant to preoperative care, anaesthesia, and acute pain.

Delphi panel were multi-disciplinary and even included patients and caregivers.
