Bees see ultraviolet light (UV). Plants exploit this by having nectar guide patterns on their flowers that #glow in response to UV light. These patterns light the way for bees to the nectar & pollen-rich parts of flowers.
Bees are fed
Plants are pollinated
Win-win

Here's a short clip of the yellow morph of a Male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus). Note that he has no blue on his wings.
He was particularly zippy that #summer day and was the most difficult to #photograph & record.

Here is the dark morph of a female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus). The #butterflies were very energetic on this #summer day, so they were difficult to track and this clip is short.
