Today I make nurses & nursing visible. I stand up for what I believe in. Be part of solution & more women into politics. Standing for local council elections is not for faint hearted! However, RGN RMN training in 1980’s & 40 yrs in global health prepared me well

For International Women’s Day 2025 what about some art as activism & in particular art for gender equity.Paula Rego led the way. Not ‘just a story teller’. She changes views, challenges thinking, changes laws.Given that art is the way we speak up & out about injustice, any new tales of women today?

Impact of USAID funding withdrawal on global health. 1500 children a day born with HIV, millions of women dying due to lack of maternal care. Treatment of diseases that don’t stop at borders will cease. AID/TRADE geo political battle will end lives & require sale of country’s assets to survive.

Galapagos Friday & this is it. Tea to help with altitude sickness for Cotopaxi - neck of the moon. Something took my breath away. Maybe it was being the closest to the sun you can get on earth (so I was told) maybe the view & silence, maybe standing 4000m high on highest active volcano in the world

Galapagos Thursday. Underwater camera pics back from the chemist. (Remember those days!!) Forgotten just how close these guys came to me. They are huge & fast so you can’t get to them. This is my head and turtle’s body in case there is any confusion. Easily done!!!

Galapagos / Ecuador Wednesday religious reflections- Its beginning to look a lot like………this bird’s eye view of city showed old monasteries/churches at the corners of each ‘block’ All Christian groups, all white buildings. Made me think of how religion forms cities as well as beliefs & behaviours.
