Dr Balfour Mount died yesterday. Our clinical and spiritual leader, he was the first to use the term “palliative care” and opened the Royal Vic PCU. He inspired all of us to work with energy and integrity . We are all a bit more lonely today. Godspeed, Bal Mount

Since 1997 there have been no less than 25 commissions, select committee inquiries & white papers on social care.

Labour - who admit social care is in crisis, & that the NHS cannot be fixed without it - just responded by...

#AssistedDeath / #AssistedDying poses a massive problem for informed consent. Every other medical intervention is rigorously tested to reveal its burdens and benefits. How can we test what it's like to be dead? No truly informed consen tis possible. #Ethics #HAPC #MedSky
