Great panel of our students reflecting on how we as an academic community have build and contributed to careers in social policy, public policy, social work & social justice. Celebrating 10 years as a school feels humbled by the achievements of our graduates

Werder ist auch in Kerry. Selbst auf dem entlegensten Wanderpfad am Gap of Dunloe war ein Stück Heimat. Wann spielt Werder Conference League, dass es hier auch mal ein Spiel gibt? @werder.de

Something positive from CHI Crumlin. Maybe 4 years ago I had suggested to erect bike racks at the outpatient entrance. So pleased to see these today, as active travel is possible for routine hospital checks @dublincycling.bsky.social @dublincommuters.bsky.social @irishcyclingcmpn.bsky.social

It's great to see when talented PhD students make their first steps into academia. Gabriela Sepúlveda-Vásquez started on the day a year ago & her 1st book review came out today. @ucdspswsj.bsky.social @volkswagenstiftung.de

Just saw two mice running around @AMS Schipol airport. Probably normal for most airports, but still awkward.

Fair enough. Yet, the Development Plan 2016-2022 states 25% cycling share, without the canal limit. Although it remains unclear when the 25% shall be achieved. The earlier GDA strategy 2016-2035 aimed for 8% cycling. thanks for highlighting!

Writing a chapter on active travel & find it disappointing to read how DCC became less ambitious over time. Development Plan of 2005 aims to achieve 15% cycling by 2017, while the Greater Dublin Area strategy of 2022 aims to achieve less (12%) by 2042. @irishcycle.com @dublincommuters.bsky.social

Looking forward to our presention on intergenerational relations and housing @isa-sociology.org Forum of Sociology

The paper is still very much work in progress, but we can provide surprising findings that in some countries homeownership rates of young people are higher than for 65+ olds

Our union @ifut.bsky.social should oppose any plans to reintroduce Celtic Tiger style state funded salary top-ups for US academics. Professorial salaries are already one of the highest in the EU, plus the soft power of English speaking. It will mean fewer jobs for homegrown & European talent.

Yesterday I captured a Garda driving & using a mobile. Picture quality is poor, but you can see how the driving Gardai puts the mobile down & the screen goes off. He also typed. Should I report this to Garda? Ombudsman? @irishcyclingcmpn.bsky.social @ibike.ie @righttobikeit.bsky.social @garda.ie

Revisiting Bad Religion's Grey Race album after listening to it emphatically as a teenager. The lyrics came back in an instant, once the cords started. The sad issue is that after 30 years a lot of their social observations still hold @thebrpage.bsky.social
