This asshole tried to kill a baby cardinal fresh out of the nest today. The parents were flitting around, chirping like crazy, and so was baby on the sidewalk as I pulled Ripley away. AFAIK baby was okay when we left and Ripley never got a hold of it. Ugh this kid.

I attended a grief workshop as I continue to mourn this beautiful lady a year and a half after her death. Americans have such a broken relationship with death, yet we can’t truly appreciate life without it. At 15, Daisy’s work here was done, but her stubborn, sassy spirit lives within me forever.
