I remember my dad working at our local station in the 80s, and one day bringing home a stack of paper cups with the logo on. They were impossibly exciting and glamorous! (And cleaner than this one) Even mere suggestions of "The BBC Canteen" were thrilling in those days.

Just remembered the time I found my new favourite swearword in a pet shop

Seeing Liz Truss amongst the ex-Prime Ministers on Remembrance Sunday is like when you're watching #totp 1998 on BBC Four and finding out that apparently 'Freak Me' by Another Level once got to Number 1.

I hope he's tested that microphone, he always seems to have terrible luck :(

Crikey, look at how we voted in the 1988 Smash Hits Readers Poll. Imagine having so many music shows on TV that they got their own Top Ten!

I was all ready to give La Voix all my votes, but Harry just bought two of them by doing That Thing with his nipples. One each #strictly

"Are the costumes ready?"
"Yes! But, um... You're not going to believe it..."
"Don't tell us - You ran out of material before you could make the trousers?"
"Yeah..."
"Oh no! This seems to happen every week!" #totp

I mean, if they're looking to replace a duo...

What I love about #thetraitors is the way it taps into centuries of British hauntology, from tales of banshees, right up to the tradition of hilariously-bad-but-also-creepy seaside waxworks museums. Hope the next series includes a challenge where they have to retrieve a frisbee from a substation.

It was such a wonderful day. The sun shone, we walked miles, we talked constantly. I'm basically bleeting this so I don't forget (I'd put it in a diary, but that's exactly the sort of thing I'd lose, so apologies for plonking it on your timeline instead) AND the TV-AM eggs are still at Camden Lock!

Later I took her to Rough Trade East and, as soon as she saw all the vinyl, she gave me the biggest hug :) She beamed as she rummaged through the albums while I waffled on about how I used to visit the tiny shop in Neal's Yard, buying music she loves now. I was almost a cool dad! Almost. Steady now.

So I had the *best* day out with my daughter yesterday. We started in Camden - She loves it there, but I don't think I've visited since the 2000s so it was magical exploring together, her showing me her favourite shops and me occasionally yelping "OMG DINGWALLS! I saw Idlewild there in 1998!"
