A group of terracotta temples — in a town that was once the epicentre of the mighty Malla dynasty — is a testament to the rulers’ devotion to Vaishnavism and the art of utilising locally abundant materials. These are the terracotta temples of Bishnupur, Bankura.

The AQI in Kolkata is 189 today. I have a sore throat and my eyes haven’t stopped watering all morning.

My mother hasn’t let an hour pass without reminding me at least once that I wanted to move to New Delhi earlier this year because of better work opportunities.
