As for the physicality I find the case is often overstated. He led the team in hits last year. He’s doing so again this year. Could he be even more physical? Sure. But we should acknowledge that he’s made big strides in this area and it’s yielding dividends.

I would be more positive about Slaf. I see a young guy who has taken another step this year. He’s had two bad games in a row but so has everyone else. Agreed that iffy decisions with the puck remain a problem. I think that comes from him wanting to make a play when sometimes he needs to dump it in.

Cryptic. 🤔

Thompson obviously scores a lot more. But if people complain that Slaf isn’t physical enough given his frame they might want to watch some tape of Thompson.

He was always a master of the takeaway. I loved it when he did it for us.

If you check Armia’s stats he’s actually a bit faster than average. He’s one of those big guys who looks slow.

Thank you. And an even better answer!

blind obedience and uncritical patriotism that led millions to the slaughter in 1914-1918.

Remembrance Day should be a time for critical reflection as well as to honour the memories of those who sacrificed themselves in wars, both just and unjust. #RemembranceDay

and the key lesson we should take from the War is to be deeply skeptical of our leaders. Instead he focused on the sacrifices of the soldiers and their families. Worthy of remembrance? Absolutely. But that’s not actually a lesson; indeed, focusing on that alone risks perpetuating the same…

😂 I was going to make the same joke but use Dwight King.

It’s too bad Andreas Martinsen isn’t Canadian. 🤷‍♂️

You may have to attend all future drafts. 🤷‍♂️

That IS a fun fact! Less fun: wasn’t that the year Saku blew out his knee from which, I maintain to this day, he never fully recovered?

I remember him starting to look like this before the plague of injuries hit him. Back then I was very high on him. Hopefully he can keep it up and get his career back on track.

Agreed. I got to meet them once as well and found them very approachable and likeable. They were very generous with their time.

Unfortunately, you won’t have any international students to teach, however, and because provincial governments don’t value education, consequently your university will be on the verge of bankruptcy.

Unhappy because the focus isn’t on him.
