IRB-approved poster announcing an anonymous survey study for patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and health care providers who treat patients for PCOS. There is a QR code and URL on the poster that would take you to the survey. I apologize that the description/consent section at the top of the survey is an image file because word version did not format at all well in Qualtrics. I got help from the AU Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship to show some of our students in Augusta, GA, this terrific and informative webinar hosted by Carole LaBonne, Ondine Cleaver, and four great PhD students in 1st to 5th yrs of their programs.

Quiet day of rest for the overextended teaching professor and unabashed cat lady. Photos of three feline companions, featuring the gorgeous tortie.
A tortie cat curled in a blue-and-white wool bed peers toward the camera. She has a mostly black face with a few orange accents, including a kissing spot on her forehead, and greenish eyes. Just before this photo was taken, her least-favorite fellow feline came too close to her personal space, hence the baleful gaze. She refrained from spiciness, though! Vantage point: blind-without-glasses human in bed points phone camera toward the other side of the bed. Three cats are lined up, with a striped ginger boy closest, visible only with plump haunches and belly, plus his paws. In the middle is a much smaller floofy orange cat also facing away from the camera. Finally toward the foot of the bed is the tortie, facing in general direction of the camera to better watch what the human is doing. Teal tones in the curtains, wall art, and bedspread, plus orange in the bedspread, complement the cat colors nicely.

One little nook in my campus office. The fierce (angry?) koala is the newest addition. With me, protecting hearts and guests needing to hear "You Are Loved" while we also scowl and squint at a lot of what's happening these days.

Update. Arrived! Plan is to install koala as a guardian and conversation subject in the campus office. Summer courses begin 5/12.
The plush koala known as Speedy, arrived today! Here held up for the camera, after his ear and chest tufts were fluffed out. He has narrowed eyes and prominent claws. Watch out! The inspection crew - a ginger brother cat and a tortie sister cat - were on the case as soon as koala and some extras came out of the package. They seemed more interested in the bag of stickers, pins, cards (which I have not opened yet).

I ordered these pins from Dr. Robin Hayward's Etsy shop ( canopyrobin.etsy.com ) just over a week ago, and they arrived from the UK to Georgia USA this afternoon. Fast service, beautiful products as advertised.

My science people are not okay, especially the young trainees and junior faculty from targeted groups. Check on them and protect them if you can.

Highest maintenance cat here is the tortie. We affectionately call her Gremlin (not her government/actual name). She was born 3 yrs ago today to the best mom, a colony cat rescued and placed in a great foster home 1 month before kittens were born. So not quite a trash goblin.
Tortie cat who flops and rolls and stretches paws every time human heads into the kitchen. Maximal visibility and impact for potential treat delivery from the fridge or cabinet. Staring at the food dispenser.

One of the PhD students in my summer histology course made a painting for me this weekend. It is charmingly titled on the frame as "Pig Colon," and initialed and dated on top left.

Have never received course-related art as a gift before!
(I do have them make sketches in lab.)
A 12 x 12 inch canvas with pinkish tissues (connective tissue and muscle) in the bottom 60%, and an undulating layer of purple with some pink and white mixed in at upper 40%. Represents a histology specimen of colon.
