It's a nice idea because it encourages prosocial play, and that can only be a good thing.

I hear they're installing a bouncy castle where the rose garden was.

I'm looking forward to the 2025 Nobel Prizes.

Donald Trump will win four!

Stupid Curie (Physics, Chemistry) and Pauling (Physics, Peace) only won two.

Peace --work in Gaza/Ukraine

Medicine -- Aceta..Aceta...Tylenol causes autism

Economics--Impact of tariffs

Physics--Climate change isn't real.

When the EU27 runs a healthy trade surplus with Israel, performative horror about the genocide in Gaza is as good as it gets.

Daily kills by IDF in Gaza are returning to early war rates.

Clear massacres in 2025.

UN Special rapporteur: evidence of genocide. ICC issues arrest warrant. Amnesty then HRW find genocide, UN independent commission finds genocide. IDF breaks ceasefire. Operation "Gideon's chariot" starts

I made a similar comment to a friend this morning, though less eloquently than van Reybrouck.

I am shocked how fast Europe has dumped the rules-based international order to play nice with "daddy". 🤮

For some reason my social media feed has been carrying a lot of "Does God Exist?" debates.

I dislike the Dawkins, Hitchens, or Gervais approaches to the question. So I thought I would pen my own response.

The U.S. strike on Iran’s Fordow site is not only a violation of the UN Charter (Art. 2(4)), but also breaches Iran’s Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement with the IAEA. It undermines international safeguards and the entire NPT-based nuclear order.

'Nobody knows what I'm going to do....not even me'

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

Israel and the US risked a regional conflagration to put Iran's nuclear programme back "more than a few weeks".

One of the political appeals of Donald Trump was his stated aversion to war.

It's simply untrue. He loves power and the accoutrements of power.

He is happy to fight proxy wars. He is happy to use the military against his own people.

He is the school yard bully.

Human rights didn’t fail because they were weak. They failed because they drifted—cut loose from moral grounding, pulled apart by power.

We need a new foundation: dignity, welfare, and the refusal to treat anyone as expendable.

Something is very "off" when law enforcement officers feel the need to hide their identity. Is it shame, fear, or intimidation? None of the options inspire hope, confidence or trust.

Farewell to the great Antony Green. Public Broadcasting keeping elections free fair, and intelligible.

In his acceptance speech, PM Albanese highlighted as Australian values just about everything Donald Trump opposes: fairness, equality, an acceptance of people of all origins, being able to choose who they love.

The great Antony Green (ABC Australia) has just called the election for the Australian Labor Party.

"If the pre-polls turn around (for the Liberals now) there would have to be a lot of loaves and fishes"

The Trump effect on liberal democracies.

Australia has an independent Electoral Commission that conducts the election. It uses a sophisticated preferential voting system. Adult citizens over 18 are obliged to vote. Voter suppression doesn't exist as an electoral strategy, politicians have to campaign for every vote.

The newly delivered Org Chart for WHO.

I can't say I love it. Putting Disease Control in one division and Health Systems in another is a recipe for continued vertical programs and risks the commitment to Universal Health Coverage.

But do not let perfection be the enemy of the good.
