This was given to me about 10 yrs ago. The full original article is no longer available online ( I can't locate). Take it for what it's worth. It's not been far from my thoughts in the past several years. Panedemic, Genocides, Famines, & Endless Wars all add up eventually.

The US gov doesn't legally "own" much of the territory in the lower 48 that they have laid claim to. There are sovereign territories within this country. Saying "we own" it doesn't make it so, nor does it make them American citizens unless and until they choose to cede their lands to the US. imo
