It was very funny to be a fly on the wall during that informal debrief, though it was also infuriating, like when they used mocking voices to say "oh nooo, but what about copyriiight?!". These people have zero respect for the craft of game development, its industry or even popular gaming brands

SteamOS on SteamDeck has a "read-only filesystem" which means all apps must come from its packet manager or stuff like appimage/flatpak. I've found it a real pain to use so far :/ (disclaimer: I'm not a Linux person)

You have my permission then. There's no paid version, the PC games are free as well, but a link back to dreamnoid.itch.io would indeed be appreciated. Thank you! SuperStation is such a cool project ;)

For years I've been experimenting with 3D but in the summer of 2025 I reached a point where I could see it becoming more than a prototype. So I made Dear Clockmaker, a short 3D action-adventure game, to prove it could work

I don't think I've even found the menu bar in the file explorer...? I really hate the entire Gnome experience... Thankfully I don't need to use Linux anymore for a while

It's getting better and better: Ubuntu does not install a media player out of the box! OGG files are opened by Firefox and WAV files just won't load.
Are they assuming nobody got the sound working? (And to be fair the sound is indeed not working inside my VM)

Now I'm sure I will get replies from people telling me it's my own fault for installing Ubuntu in the first place because everybody knows I should have used [their distrib of choice, every time a different one] instead...
The state of computing in 2025 is really disheartening :(

I know it's difficult for such a large disorganized and probably underfunded movement like the Linux ecosystem to become a true alternative to Windows as it goes down the drain, but this is really basic stuff. Pretty sure this command used to be there in prior versions!

How can the most widely known Linux desktop distrib makes such mistakes in 2024? How the hell are you supposed to know where this magic folder is and what it does? Why do you have to setup basic features yourself? Who thought it was OK to release this?
