Jack became Big Boss in 75, and we got a new Snake here. Again, this all gets very complicated to explain simply, because everything in MGSV is experienced thru a 1984 filter where most of the context is divorced from the settings and events. Things are not exactly as they seem here.

You gotta get way into the weeds for intepreting MGSV, but essentially the man we knew as Jack, Naked Snake, stopped being the playable character after Peace Walker ended. The fella we play as in GZ, Snake, is introduced as having -formerly- been known as Big Boss. This means that Snake isn't Jack.

Wellll, that's not entirely the case though. Kiefer Sutherland voices a different character than the ones David Hayter voiced. Hayter wasn't recast. Big Boss isn't the same character any more. He's been replaced, and Hideo just wanted us to think he recast Hayter. But the devil is in the details.

Ok good luck with work! Just to leave you with something... we are pretty sure it isn't just Johnny & V merged, we think some part of V came from Shaitan and that maybe Shaitan originally went thru this same process V is in now. Merged with Johnny to fix the broken parts, maybe. 🫡

Yo... we have made significant progress on that one. We need to chat sometime. We found out there's something definitely fucky with how V sees colors. Johnny looks to be red/green colorblind and some magenta filtering is necessary to see things accurately. Tarot stuff too. It's gettin spicy.
