i feel this really hard...i feel like ppl have forgotten how to craft a tight, well-paced story in favor of "vibes", shock factor, & checking off character tropes

Not just with horror/gothic novels, but a lot of the newer books coming out in general T__T not v cohesive, meandering middle parts
