This is notably insane because Columbia was est. in 1754, and UC Berkeley was est. in 1868. I mean, what the hell.

This appears to be Schumer’s argument - but where’s the evidence? What gives the POTUS the right to unilaterally and permanently eliminate programs or furlough employees during a govt shutdown? If this is true, Schumer needs lay it out more carefully.

The NYT needs the headline “Schumer: Traitor to His Cause”
