I enjoyed a lot of the games I played at #Spielwiesn but several of them were sold out or too expensive, so those have to wait. For now, I got some bargains and am very excited to try them!

And last but not least I played my first pen & paper roleplaying game today: #MyLittlePonyTailsOfEquestria! The game master was fantastic, the way he told the story was really engaging, and I appreciated that the game was focused on friendship and support instead of yet another dungeon crawl. Fun!
Important game components: dice, friendship crystals, and a pony figure! 😄 The game master's shield, a dice tray, some standees representing various NPCs, and my player sheet (I was a unicorn, of course! 😄)

#Fangs is a fun game for a bigger playgroup. The premise is humans vs. vampires vs. werewolves, you get to play cards to find out who everyone is, and you can fight other players to deal them damage. Easy to teach, too!
Location cards (cemetery, chapel, etc.) are set up in a circle. There is a board to track every player's damage. Some players have collected gear that they can use for special abilities.

#13Leaves was taught to us at the publisher's booth. You try to empty your hand in the evillest way possible (i.e. preventing others from being able to play the game). Basically everyone at the table decided that everyone else at the table was a dick. 😂
A deck of cards, each with a leaf on it and a number. There are different kinds of leaves, each representing a number (1-13).

This morning we tried #EndeavorDeepSea. I've played Age of Sail, and while I am a fan of the historical period & the historical modules were interesting, the game had its faults. Deep Sea improves on a lot of them, first and foremost a coop mode.
The ocean tiles representing different levels of depth. There are submarines and player markers on them. Some areas haven't been explored yet and contain dive markers. The tiles have spaces for sonar and animal exploration. A player board with 4 tracks, and depending where you are on them you can recruit better scientists and take more actions per round. There is also a track for DNA you collect, and a storage space for activation discs. Next to the board are scientist tiles with various abilities and cards representing reports you have written about your discoveries.

#Nassau probably has the coolest theme of the Stefan Feld games. Pirates! Ships! Rum! And pirate pets! Component quality is a bit meh, but there is a lot in this box. We didn't have time to try this properly though, so I definitely want to take another look at it!
The city board you use for the first phase of every round: move the pirate captain to the big spaces and grab different kinds of supplies for your ship. But you have to place your crewmen on the spaces in between, so when you run out of crew, this phase is over for you. The ocean board for phase 2 of each round, full of islands and enemy markers and gun towers and trading posts. There are wooden loot markers you can collect with your ship. Your own, customizable ship board with space for goods, sails, weapons, and crew. My first mate had a pet parrot!

I love #Alchemists, but it's a brain burner. The kids version #LittleAlchemists is for people who love brewing potions but not the worker placement & deduction of the original. Cute artwork, app works great, and it's quick to teach and play. Best part: the box is full of expansions to discover!
A cardboard player screen with two spaces to put in ingredient tiles. The game app recognizes the tiles and tells you which potion you made. You then mark the potion colour in your pyramid. The market board, where you can buy ingredient tiles for your potions. There are also customer tiles that require you to brew specific potions to get coins (victory points).

#LeviathanWilds is basically Shadow of the Colossus as a board game, tiny persons climbing titans, destroying crystals. You have decks of cards special to your character & class, gameplay feels smooth, interesting & fun. Pretty artwork too! 👍 This is what I expected from Slay the Spire & didn't get.
An open spiral book with a "map" of a titan's body, with paths you can climb. Some spots have dice on them to represent crystals that need to be destroyed. In the background, there is the game box lid with an image of a fantasy style titan on the cover. Character tableau for Juno (sorcerer class), with an overview of the game actions, a health and a corruption track, some markers, and the deck and discard pile on either side.

It only took me ages but I finally played #SkyTeam! And it's great, the tension is so good. Love the theme too - landing planes most likely hasn't been done before. And there seems to be a lot to discover in the box to keep you busy once you know the basics. 👍

#Charcuterie has a delicious theme and nice components. Gameplay is pretty simple, nice for people who don't play much, and it's really fun to arrange all the components at the end! But I found it way too expensive for what it is.

#Finspan is the newest Wingspan iteration, this time about cool fishies! Very quick to set up, teach & play, compared to the original, and the gameplay felt different enough for me to justify having both. 👍 Artwork is gorgeous as usual, it looks amazing.

#Spielwiesn today was busy but great fun! There were tons of people, and tables were fully occupied so soon that they had to open another hall. 😄 I got to try some #boardgames that had been on my list for a while, yay! Looking forward to tomorrow!

October 2025 must have been my least busy board game month ever. 😭 Due to being ill for 3 weeks I had to cancel so many game nights. But the games I did play were fun! The new Hitster is fantastic, and the LotR themed Pandemic is already my favourite of the series. 😍
