Well yeah of course you need the mood in the narrative. It's the atmosphere of a story. It's what gives the narrative it's vibe and conveys what feeling you want your readers to have. This is a pretty basic aspect of any story. It would be very strange for a story to lack any kind of mood.

The "Logically Correct" one looks the best imo. It looks natural, there's more depth to it, and the shading adds to the mood of the scene. "Balanced Choice" is kinda meh, but "Optimal Effect" is easily the worst. It's unnatural with that sun's angle, as if someone's shining a flashlight in her face.
