Sligo Abbey (Mainistir Shligigh), early September. A Dominican institution, founded in 1252 by Maurice Fitzgerald, it plays a role in Yeat's anachronistic, anti-fraternal adaptation of Aislinge Meic Con Glinne in ‘The Crucifixion of the Outcast’, much admired by Oscar Wilde.
